Fabian Heaton

My professional role at South East Sydney Local Health District is as a Senior Analyst within Health ICT. I am a father of three children, Danica, Tristan and Tiarna. Danica is a designer and is 24 years old. Tristan and Tiarna had a life limiting condition called Lissencephaly, Tristan died in 2014 aged 17 years and Tiarna died in 2003 aged 3 years. My wife Maria of 26 years works as a Paediatric Nurse.

I am the Founder of the Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation “HEARTBREAKERS” Team. The “HEARTBREAKERS” have been participating in the popular “City to Surf” race for the past 12 years and fundraised more than $250,000. All monies went towards the purchase of much needed patient care equipment and education.

My hobbies include cricket, table tennis, running, swimming, adventure, hiking and watching movies. At the age of 20, I commenced a professional career in cricket in India and made my first class debut when I was 25 representing the Indian Railways. After I migrated to Australia I continued to play and coach cricket. My highest achievement was representing Australia in the inaugural “Over 50’s” that toured the UK to play against England and Wales in 2017. My baggy green number is #17. I am currently playing with the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club and the 5th Grade captain. My goal is to help and train many youngsters who are aspiring to play for Australia. I also play for The Georges River District Cricket Club in the Masters over 40’s and Classics over 50’s team.

My life motto is “Not to take anything for granted”, smile often, think positively, give thanks, laugh loudly, love others and dream big.
