In the days following the heartbreaking events at Bondi Beach in December 2025, our hospital community faced an extraordinary challenge. As staff cared for victims and families navigating shock and grief, community support made an immediate and meaningful difference.
Our dedicated foundation team acted quickly, reaching out to supporters and corporate partners for help. The response was overwhelming. Every company we approached donated items that enabled our team to assemble care packs and comfort items for those affected. Essentials such as snacks, lunches, coffee vouchers, toiletries and transport vouchers offered comfort and practical relief during long, emotionally draining hours.
Our social work and clinical teams shared how deeply these gestures were felt: a warm drink during a difficult shift, a meal provided without added thought or effort, and practical items that supported wellbeing during a devastating time. The response from our supporters reminded staff, victims and families that they were not facing this alone.
