Patients with kidney disease are now benefiting from a new state-of-the-art Kidney Care Centre at Prince of Wales Hospital, bringing together dialysis, transplant support, outpatient clinics, home therapies and specialist multidisciplinary care in one purpose-built facility. As the only centre in NSW to offer such a comprehensive range of renal services under one roof, the centre will help deliver more integrated, convenient and effective care for patients and their families.
The Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation is proud to support innovation and excellence in kidney health beyond the bedside. Through the generosity of our donors, the Foundation has funded kidney research initiatives including the region’s first Kidney Biobank, a vital resource accelerating research into acute and chronic kidney disease, and the TransTox Study, which is helping improve outcomes for kidney transplant recipients through earlier detection of kidney injury.
More recently, Foundation-funded research grants have continued to support advances in renal care, including projects focused on improving the detection and management of symptoms experienced by haemodialysis patients. Together, investments in world-class clinical facilities and pioneering research are helping to shape a better future for people living with kidney disease.
