For those who suffer strokes, reaching the hospital and getting assessed within the first ‘golden hour’ is critical. Seed funding from us allowed Professor Ken Butcher and his team to provide state of the art diagnostic data for acute stroke patients in real time regardless of their location. Access to this 24h critical care service has now been rolled out across NSW removing geographical barriers and improving outcomes for thousands of regional and rural stroke patients.
Virtual-reality based rehabilitation therapy is an engaging and effective way to improve upper-limb function and cognitive abilities following a stroke.
